Panthera tigris (Tiger)
Tigers inhabit a range of forest types across Asia, from tropical rainforests to dry deciduous woodlands. The Central Deccan Plateau's dry deciduous forests, including those protected within Tadoba Andhari, support a significant tiger population in India. Subadult tigers—typically between two and four years old—are increasingly independent but still developing hunting skills and territorial behavior. These forests experience marked seasonal change, with spring marking the transition toward hotter, drier months before the monsoon arrives.
