Jungle Owlet Perched and Alert
A Jungle Owlet (Glaucidium radiatum) rests on a lichen-covered branch in the East Deccan moist deciduous forests, its gaze fixed and attentive in the midday light. The small owl’s barred plumage and forward-facing yellow eyes are characteristic of this widespread Asian species, found across India’s deciduous woodlands. © 2026 Chris Smith. All rights reserved.
