Eastern Paradise-Whydah
I’m not much of a small-in-frame guy. I always want feather detail, fur detail, eyes that jump out at you… Alas, these birds were always too far off, or perched in a tangle of branches. But, given they’re so striking, I’ll try to get past it.
The male Eastern Paradise-Whydah looks regal while perched, and seems almost like he’s swimming when in flight due to the undulating tail feathers. Sadly I never captured any flight video. Hopefully I’ve done him justice with a portrait.
